After last week saw the start of the World T20, an exciting
round of European Football and the continuation of the Six Nations, I preview the
next week of sport and where to watch it.
World T20
Continues/Starts
The ICC would argue that the ICC enters its seventh gameday
on Tuesday as hosts India take on New Zealand, but in reality the tournament is
starting. Any ‘phase’ in which 80% of the teams receive byes based on their
status, is the start of a tournament with any preceding matches being a
qualifier, for the ICC to pretend they are giving associates a chance in the
main tournament is just embarrassing.
However, the cricket so far has been high quality and
competitive with Bangladesh and Afghanistan both progressing. Hopefully
Afghanistan can cause some upsets and will fancy their chances against England
who may prove vulnerable to the spin of Rashid Khan and Nabi. I just hope that
the good coverage about how unfair the tournament structure is continues, which
will be helped by the appearance of Afghanistan in the Super 10s.
Where to
Watch: All matches will be live on Sky Sports 2 at 9:30 and 14:00 each day.
Champions
League and Europa League
It seems as if the hopes of England will rest on the
shoulders of Man City who actually have a chance of really challenging on a
frontier on which they have been disappointing under the new regime. Chelsea
crashed out against PSG on Wednesday and barring a miracle, Arsenal will do the
same against Barcelona. If you’re not interested in watching Arsenal playing
quite well against Barcelona but ultimately falling short, Juventus play Bayern
Munich on Wednesday as well.
Anfield was back at its best on Thursday night as Liverpool
took a commanding position against Man United with a comfortable 2-0 victory.
The tie is by no means over as United, backed by an Old Trafford crowd
desperate not to make an already frustrating season worse, will be determined
to turn the tie around.
Where to
Watch:
Man City v Dynamo Kiev, 19:45, Tuesday 15th March, BT Sport Europe
Barcelona v Arsenal, 19:45, Wednesday 16th March, BT Sport Europe

Six Nations
Weekend
England wrapped up the Six Nations on Sunday after Scotland beat France. However, they won’t rest easy against the French as they have the chance to wrap up the Grand Slam in Eddie Jones’ first campaign in charge. Elsewhere Wales play Italy and Scotland take on Ireland as sides plot how to improve next time around.

Start of
the F1
The razzmatazz of Formula One will return at the weekend with the annual season opener of the Australian GP. The question on everybody’s minds is who can beat Lewis Hamilton as he and Nico Rosberg look to dominate the season for Mercedes once more. Eleven teams will line up in Melbourne including three Brits; Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Jolyon Palmer who will race for Renualt.

Where to
Watch: Channel 4 has acquired the free to air rights from the BBC and will air
10 races without advert breaks. However, Australia is not one of these so the
whole weekend should be watched on Sky Sports F1.
